Plan Ahead for Your Author/ Illustrator Visit A visit from an author or an illustrator is a great way to bring attention to a book, an author/illustrator, and to your store or library. Attending a book reading or presentation can be fun and exciting for community members, and entertaining for children. Meeting the author or illustrator of a favorite book can result in inspired readers, happy customers, and sales! How to Order Books for Your Author/Illustrator Appearance 1. Please allow at least three weeks before the author/illustrator visit for processing and delivery. 2. To place an order, call (800) 225-3214. Let us know who will be visiting and when he or she will be at your store or library. 3. Orders can also be placed using a Charlesbridge order form or by purchase order. Send your order via fax (800-926-5775) or mail (Charlesbridge Publishing, Attn: Author Visit, 85 Main Street, Watertown, MA 02472) at least three weeks in advance. 4. Your order total cannot exceed your credit limit. If the order total exceeds your credit limit, prepayment of a portion of the order is required. You may choose from two options: a. Prepay 1/2 (half) of the order total. You will be billed for the second half. b. Prepay 1/3 of the order; remit the second 1/3 immediately after the signing; the last payment is due 30 days from invoice date. Send payment to the address listed above. Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express also accepted. Returning Unsold Books Only books purchased for the visit may be returned. They must be unsigned and received by our warehouse in saleable condition. Be sure to include the invoice number assigned to your visit order and return the books within thirty days of the visit date. You are responsible for all shipping costs. Books are returnable for credit only. Be sure to: PACK all unsold books in sturdy cartons. FILL empty space completely with paper. TAPE securely with shipping tape.
