Alan Witschonke
Biography: Alan Witschonke grew up in Darien, Connecticut, and knew from an early age that he wanted to be an illustrator. He graduated from Rhode Island School of Design in 1975 and since then his drawings and paintings have appeared in numerous magazines, newspapers, books, and exhibitions.Soon after graduation, Alan became the art director off the Northeast Journal and now owns his own illustration/design studio, The Artery. Alan's work has received numerous honors and awards including a Certificate of Merit from the New York Society of Illustrators in 1995 and 1996, the Award of Excellence from Communication Arts Magazine in 1995, and Informational Book of the Year from the IRA for The Brooklyn Bridge (Miyaka Press). Alan lives in Belmont, Massachusetts. |
