Tim is unhappy about moving from his home in the country to a house in the city. He misses his friends and the woods and the pond where he would play. And to add insult to injury the kid next door to his new house is not only a girl, but she's also deaf. How is he supposed to be friends with a deaf girl? After being paired together in a school project, Tim and Maria learn to understand each other and become friends.
