By Jerry Pallotta/ Illustrated by Tom Leonard

A is for Atlantic Spotted Dolphin; B is for Blue Whale; and W is for "Wow, that's a lot of sea mammals."

Did you know that manatees can live in both salt and fresh water? Or that baby elephant seals are called weaners? Or that sea otters have almost a million hairs per square inch? Young readers will dive right into this alphabetical exploration of the world's sea life. And they'll learn there isn't a sea mammal that begins with X, and how hard Jerry Pallotta tried to find one. Though he was unsuccessful, readers will find that research takes you to many places and introduces you to many people.
